Florence Day 4.5 and 5 and Rome Day 1

Today was more of a moving day so this one will not be as long as some of my other blogs!

I'll start with yesterday (Tuesday) evening. After the cooking class we had a few hours before our reservation at the Uffizi Gallery. There was a lot of sculptures and paintings there. It took us a good 2.5 hours to walk through it all and I'm pretty sure we did not see all of it. I know that I am not that much of an art person, but some things were pretty neat. There was a lot of elaborate paintings and sculptures that I could not even begin to draw on my own. I have trouble staying in the lines in a coloring book. One thing I did to help me through the museum, while this may not be that appropriate, I counted the number of male members on the statues. I made it up to 54 I believe and I think I even missed a few. That was just on the statues, I did not count the paintings. After the museum, it was getting late so we went back to the hotel and went to bed.

Here are some pictures from the Uffizi.

This morning we got up and pretty much packed and walked to the train station. This train ride was still on a high speed train, but only lasted and hour and a half because it is a shorter distance. When we got off the train and were walking to the hotel, one of the wheels on my suitcase broke, so I will have to carry it from now on, which is really not that big of a deal because it is pretty light. We just got back from lupper (lunch/supper) and probably just going to play some cards and maybe some gelato later!

Colosseum tomorrow and the Vatican on Friday! I'm pretty excited!
